Second visit to Clove Club and still very enjoyable despite some reviews I’ve seen since (last trip was 2019). The starter courses could have been better- the crab was sweet and subtle but the others were meh. Not sure why that fried chicken is still on the menu, it’s only ever been ok to me. Every dish was good, I was a bit worried about two granitas (I don’t particularly care for them in general) but that habanero dessert was awesome! A bit of an overuse of truffle for me, but I guess it’s expected from some folks at a place like this. Only dish I had problems with was the mallard. It was SO tough I had to stab it using a full fist with my fork so it wouldn’t slide all over the plate, the skin wasn’t crispy either. Such a shame because the flavors in the dish were fabulous! Scallop and sardine were divine.
Overall, very good meal and spectacular service

I need to return to The Clove Club. Went when it still had one star and thought it was the best tasting menu in the capital at the time (despite the pretty weak plating). But recent reviews lead me to want to re-evaluate.
Still, glad to hear that the Habanero Granita is still a standout.
I haven’t seen since 2019 either, glad to hear they’re mostly maintaining quality. Definitely need to get back next we’re in London
Had a very good lunch just before lockdown. That whisky broth with the sardine was crazy good. Was a fun bit before where we got to choose the ceramic tumbler for the accompanying sake.
Offered the wine flight, and when i said id love to but it gets me too drunk they said they we could share 1 flight between us and then they loaded the glasses anyway and we walked out absolutely sloshed.
