A PEPPERONI ROLL eating contest at a local fair, Three Rivers Festival in Fairmont, West Virginia, usually in mid June , at the Northwest corner of the state. Basically, a "pastie" in pizza dough. A traditional Italian dish created by local Italian immigrant coal miner cooks to make a lunch for them. They use to carry a roll in one hand & a chunk of pepperoni in sausage in the other. Inconvenience bore the Pepperoni Roll. There's even a book on it.
Saw the program on PBS under American Hand Pie. The challenge is at about 12:00 minutes in, give or take. The content was filmed in 2020, so with the global pandemic idk if it's still held. But, much different than Nathan's Hotdogs contest…cheers.😊

Beard, you should come to East Earl, Pennsylvania and try the largest smorgasbord in the world, called Shady Maple. They don’t have a food challenge per se, but it would be a good practice run!
