Like I said yesterday, I still have quite a lot of notes to convert to posts. So today is a more recent one. I recently got a new job, so no better way to celebrate than to go to my local wine bar and have some champagne and oysters. Also, the Agrapart Venus 2011 I had brought with me to celebrate in the first place had a bad cork. So we were forced into it. My now ex-coworker/friend never had Dom Pérignon before, and I only had a small taste during a tasting. We had spotted this bottle on the menu before, since it was actually not much above retail.

    ##Tasting note:
Citrus, toasty, brioche, yellow apple, creamy, stone fruit and light flinty note. Nice mousse and long aftertaste.

You almost want to hate on it because of how mass-produced it is, but I can’t lie, it was a very well-made and enjoyable champagne. A rich style, that much is clear. I must say that for the price it commands nowadays, you will be able to get way more exciting champagnes. Also of note that in my experience, this bottle had less flinty notes than the pervious bottle I tried.
