PAXIMADIA are Greek orange sesame biscuits that I just made for the first time! They have a nice crunchy texture and a lovely blend of nutty sesame and refreshing orange flavor. I have to admit, they’re not perfect yet, but I’m really excited about how they turned out! They’re great for snacking and I can’t wait to share them with friends and family. I’m looking forward to perfecting the recipe with each batch!

Ingredients

– 1 cup sugar
– 250ml orange juice, freshly squeezed
– 1 cup vegetable oil
– 3 ½-4 cups SR flour (approx.)
– Sesame seeds

Method:
Preheat oven at 180C or 160C fan forced. I put mine at 170C.
Whisk sugar, orange juice rind and oil together in a bowl.
Add flour gradually to make a soft dough.
Knead in the bowl for 1-2 minutes.
Divide mixture into 6 portions and then roll each into a sausage shape.
Brush with water and roll in sesame.
Place rolls on tray.
Bake in oven for approx. 20 minutes, until just golden brown.
Remove from oven and cut biscuits right through.
Place individual biscuits back on tray and continue to turn them during the baking time so both sides brown. This can take approx. 15 minutes.
Cool and store when cold in a airtight container.
