I’m aware there are other buying options, but just curious what the justification of this would be for this difference in price in a little over a month?

Maybe in preparation for Black Friday so they can say it’s a 60% off deal because the price has been hiked prior to the sale!

Checking that on Amazon, the original Barista Flavored Pack is out of stock, and that’s the only one at that price. Wallmart still has it at its original price. Can’t find it for sale on Nespresso’s site, so guessing that they have discontinued it and Amazon’s listing is just old stock that they’ve increased the price on for the last ones.

Well. As a wise man once said. “This Tic Tac, This Tic Tac. “

Expect it to become more expensive in future. Mr Trump already announced that non-US products will be subject to increased tariffs and as Nespresso pods are made in Switzerland, they‘ll probably be affected, too.

because the market can bear it

Anyone can sell on Amazon. If you see something is “sold and shipped by Amazon” it generally means they have a direct relationship with the vendor (in this case nespresso) or it will say the vendor name and pricing is more consistent/realistic. If it says sold/shipped anyone else it’s a third party who can list at whatever price they want, and will price gouge. Not sure if that’s the case here but should be something you always look for! Especially in consumables you never know where you are ordering from and if you really can trust….

When individuals buy up a bunch of something, knowing or betting it will become scarce, then they scalp it on Amazon. Remember ppl buying up Dollar Tree hand sanitizer and selling it for $5? Like that. My laundry detergent, the only one I’m not allergic to, has been discontinued and I just paid $28 a box for 2 boxes from a scalper. Ouch.
