Tasked my son with cooking when no one was home and he panicked when the grease trap started on fire (my fault for not keeping it clean I know) and he thought the grill cover would smother the flames.Outside of elbow grease, any tips on getting the plastic off?

what plastic – you mean the protective film they ship with, that is suppose to be removed before use?

    3. Remove any protective film – On certain parts of your grill such as your doors, lid, control panel, etc. you may notice a blue or white film. This is used to protect those parts during the shipping process. As soon as you take your grill out of the box that film should be removed.
