2 half sheet pans, 2 square pans, 3 pie pans, 2 heart shaped pans, a silicone baking mat, and two shapes of mini tart pans! And a pasta maker of
course!

I’ve never made tarts before! What should I try
first?! Also, does anyone have any recommendations for the best way to clean these
types of pans? Definitely need to give them
a good wash before use!

    Wow! That’s a score!

I’d wash them by hand with regular soap, but make sure to dry them well. Don’t want any rusting.

For tarts, just look up some recipes and try an easy looking one. Lemon tarts usually come out nice 🙂

    Congrats!

Older pans I’d check with a lead testing kit, if you intend on cooking with them (my MIL hung them on the walls)

You should bake a cranberry tart. It’s a beautiful color and it’s just the time of year for it. Last time I made a tart I made a chocolate crust with cranberry curd filling and it was stunning.

As far as the pasta maker goes, get yourself some 00 flour and get to work. Could start easy and make lasagna sheets. DM me if you want my nonna’s lasagna recipe. 🙂

    Wow, great haul!

Don’t put aluminum pans — the four baking pans and probably both of the tart pans — in the dishwasher. They will oxidize and turn gray. (Not sure that can be fixed.) Bar Keeper’s Friend is great for scouring aluminum or stainless, so def get some. I prefer the powder to the liquid, and it’s dirt cheap to keep on hand. For general cleaning, hot water and dish soap.

Those two rectangular pans have a slightly decorative shape on the bottom. Anyone know why? Are they supposed to be used for cakes that get turned out of the pan for decorating and serving?
