I like Hello Fresh well enough, and I like that they're trying to reduce food waist.
I also understand that you need proper packaging for shipping.
However, I feel like this is too much unnecessary single-use plastic waste for a single zucchini.
Is there a reason that a single zucchini needs 'so much' plastic packaging?

It’s probably a semiautomatic process that uses one standard bag for efficiency
Auto bagger system that they also use for carrots. It auto sorts and bags depending on the recipe.
They aren’t trying to reduce food waste. They are reducing food waste.
The whole food waste argument is pretty fishy to being with: you might save small quantities of (at least theoretically) compostable food waste, but add tons of individual packaging instead. That being said, arguing about plastic bag sizes is kind of ridiculous if consider the amounts of waste produced literally everywhere in grocery stores and restaurants.
