Showing a bottle and a glass isn’t really helping.

I’ll be brief because I don’t wan to recreate the comments that didn’t post.
This is a terrific mature wine that needs to be enjoyed now and over the next few years. It’s rich, mellow and fruit forward showing dark fruit – especially dark cherries- and cassis all covered in a lite chalk dusting. Tannins very subtle and you don’t notice any alcohol until you “feel it”.

Haven’t had a 06, but I’ve had several others that I throughly enjoyed. I’m curious to see how their wines hold up to what they were after the recent acquisition. I had the opportunity to do a tasting there in 2017 and it was a fantastic experience. I really enjoy Shafer.

I sell this wine for a small distributor in a small state, but I’ve never had the opportunity to taste it…

For sure. I’ve tried all the other Shafer wines we sell, TD-9, Red Shoulder Ranch Chard, Relentless, and One Point Five. But we get Hillside in such vanishingly small allocations that there’s nothing left for the rank and file.
