LOTS of smoke coming out of hopper on shutdown cycle. Is that normal?
I am about halfway through the shutdown cycle and there's a lot of smoke coming out of the hopper. It doesn't seem like the pellets in there are ignited, but is this normal?

It isn’t “normal” but it happens to people a lot. What I’ve found that helps stop it is to lower the temperature before you go to shutdown cycle. So go to like 240 or 200 for 10 minutes, then the shutdown cycle. That’s stopped it for me.

I’d still check the induction fan is running. Mine stays running through the shutdown process.
I also, just recently, had to clean out my hopper because a weird East bound wind and rain storm hit and got my pellets wet. First time I noticed smoke coming out my hopper.

The 2 times this happened to me I needed to clean out the fire pot. Just vacuum it out good and you should be alright.

If you read the manual, it’ll tell you to drop the heat down to 220 for about 8mins then turn it off 🤦🏻♂️

Agree with everyone here if you are cooking at high temps you need to come back down to temp slowly, I go down a notch or two every 5 min before shut down cycle when cooking at high temp
