After a nerve-wracking wait, we’re relieved to share the good news: Gatsby’s cancer scans came back clear! 🙌🐾 However, it’s not all smooth sailing—unfortunately, Gatsby also needs to get a root canal to address some dental issues.

Yes, just like with human treatments, there are side effects. I for one consider it miraculous ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻 that Gatsby has had such a great quality of life after the treatment. Our beloved boy was one of the typical length of life statistics and like the others who love you and Gatsby, I rejoice for each day you iwo enjoy each other. We will all be hoping and praying for you both

Gatsby is an old dog now. I’m sorry ryan, but I can’t watch your vlogs with Gatsby anymore because it always makes me sad to see him looking older. It reminds me of my dog, who passed away at 16, and he looked a lot like Gatsby. I can’t believe how long I’ve been following your vlogs. I’ve grown up over the years, and Gatsby has gotten older. I hope Gatsby has a long and happy life, and I hope you’re also able to start preparing yourself for anything difficult that may happen with him

Ugh….I feel your pain. Having gone through this with my last (soul) dog, it's just awful all of the impacts of cancer, on your dog's health and well being, their mental state, your mental state….sending healing thoughts your and Gatsby's way.

I’m so sorry that Gatsby has a problem with his canine teeth but so happy that chest rads & abdomen ultrasound were clear. As a UC Davis-trained vet with 30 years of clinical experience, I know that Gatsby is beating his prognosis & living a great quality of life. One thing that I’ve done in similar cases (when 2 root canals weren’t an option) was to use pulse antibiotics. This means that a dog or cat would get antibiotics (most likely Clindamycin) for 1 or 2 weeks every month to minimize the chance of bacterial spread from the mouth to blood & other parts of the body. I know you probably won’t see my comment but I hope the vet dentists at UCD mention this as a less invasive option. Me and my corgi, Pua, will keep all our paws crossed for Gatsby and you. You are a wonderful pet parent; I know it’s the hardest thing in the world but try to live like our dogs do — totally in the present without concern for the past and worry for the future. Aloha nui loa!

All because my dog got run over
My 4 year old corgi just died 2 days ago.. it’s so heartbreaking and I’m still crying everyday.. I just miss him everyday 😢
