Giant river prawns, the tomalley in the head is the prized parts, the tail is said to be not that great but I haven’t had them for a long time.

Look at the posts from yesterday, someone had a lobster sized prawn on here too. Idk what Chernobyl pond they came out of, but I would risk contamination to eat a couple of these bad boys

They are also known as Scampi, fresh water prawns. Wild caught tend to be better than aquaculture produce.

Freshwater shrimp is IMO best marinated and grilled. They take marinade very well and the flesh seems to be more appealing that way. On their own not very flavorful. Can’t speak to fresh like someone else commented.
