It's another weekend download thread where you can sound off about your latest adventures in food!

My best bites of the week: we were invited to dine at Shor in Hawaiian Gardens — they have a unique menu of Indian, Afghani and Pakistani "bazaar"-themed elevated street food that rewards adventurous eating and makes me want to come back with friends and order everything we couldn't get to. I particularly loved the Dahi Puri (little crispy shells filled with tamarind, chutney, and potatoes) the Goat Cheese Kulcha (Stuffed naan topped with parmesan cheese, brushed with truffle oil and butter sauce) and the Smoked Blackened (by black tamarind) Chicken. Really, everything we had was great — If you're looking to venture out from your usual Indian menu, I definitely recommend checking it out!

Also had a surprisingly great BBQ sandwich at Haute Mess on Beverly? When they invited us, I assumed "it's a high-end European bakery/cafe/market — it's gonna be all about the fresh pastries and bread" and it IS… but they also smoke a mean 12-hour brisket.

How about you? Did you eat anything memorable this weekend?
