I spent the second day of my trip exploring most of what I would call “south” Barolo. To be clear, that is not a real thing as Barolo is made up of 11 different communes that are spread across the entire region so please don’t quote me 🙂
I spent this day across the regions of Serralunga D’Alba and Castiglione Falleto mostly. Serralunga is known for its more powerful expressions of Barolo, where it gets hotter and is also further away from the Tanaro river. Castiglione Falleto is a fairly balanced middle ground between the two styles and is geographically near the center as well.

Alright – part two! If you want to get caught up, I made a post about my first day in Piedmont in Barbaresco [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/wine/comments/vuoaxu/first_trip_out_to_piedmont_part_1_barbaresco/).
