TLDR: I've created an AI app that analyses your bread and provides personalised advice to improve, and I'd love your feedback.
Hey everyone, I posted here a while ago about getting feedback for my app "Sourd'oh".
Sourd'oh lets you take a photo of your bread and answer a few questions, then using AI, it analyses it to rate it and tell you what's gone right or wrong, and what you can do better next time.
With Sourd'oh, you can also keep track of all your different bakes, and see how you've improved over time. It's aimed at people who are learning and/or struggling with their sourdough at the moment!
Well I've just released a major update and would love to get some feedback from all you bread lovers!
Thanks!

Just downloaded it. Really interesting idea and a very professional app. Looking forward to using it!
So cool!
Will be trying out! Downloading as we speak.
I’ll give it a try. Not that my bread ever comes out wonky. 😜
Ooh that’s interesting. One step closer to AI generated bread. 🙂
I’ll download and test.
If you’re interested in following along with the development please join the subreddit!
I’m actually making my very first loaf tomorrow! I’m totally downloading this
Cool, I’m baking a loaf tomorrow morning with a very lively starter. Can’t wait to try it out. I just downloaded the app.
So I entered one of my bakes and it suggested that I let the dough double which unless the temperature is fairly low will overproof most sourdough.
If you are familiar with the work done by Tom at sourdough journey on YouTube that information could be really useful.
Love this!! I took a picture of my recent boule and was diagnosed as an underproof, which i KNOW was the problem because I was short on time. Excellent idea, this would have helped so much as a beginner!!
What are the questions and what are you training it on.
I happen to have 3 batches of bread rising today (rye, pizza, and sesame white).
app downloaded!
I need this!
Downloading right now, looking forward to trying it out on my next bake
Just used it! I am very satisfied with the app! I used a written recipe rather than one saved in the app so I did not get to add the recipe but still think that the diagnosis is correct. My house was a bit cold during the first few hours of stretch and folds so it is likely under proved.
I am gonna download it when I get home, but if you want a more engaging experience how about some cheesy bready messages (instead of “Analysing” – “autolysing” for example)
I am not an AI person. In fact, I’m about as anti-AI as you get. I have a lot of very personal reasons to hate AI. And I think overall it’s a waste of resources that are sorely needed for other things.
All that said, I think this is a great thing. It may not be for me but if it works, which I hope it does, it will help a lot of people in this community. And to my knowledge this isn’t backed by some megacorp shoving AI places where they have the resources to not need it anyways, so that concern is gone. If you’re a person who wants to improve on your sourdough, this is probably for you. And you should give it a shot at least, so long as you don’t have your own reasons to avoid AI.
