As long as you’re eating something ♥️

Pretty good for a depression meal. I’m seeing carbs, fats, protein, and even some vitamins and probiotics. Nice work

  3. hey i think you did a really good job! whenever i go through a depressive episode, the only thing i can be bothered to make is cheap ass instant noodles. this is definitely a better alternative!

    Surviving is winning, Franklin.

If you can get any nutrition and possibly any sense of enjoyment from food when depressed, it’s a big W.

Hell yeah!!! You did great and this is a really balanced meal! Proud of you, sincerely. If you don’t already have it, look up The Sad Bastard’s Cookbook ❤️

Here’s my depression meals, if you want ideas. Apart from the optional cucumber, every single ingredient is shelf stable or can be frozen:

Microwaveable rice, a tin of tuna, mayo. Optional additions: grated cucumber or chopped spring onions, sugar, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame seeds, sesame oil.

Microwaveable rice, a block of silken tofu, chiu chow chilli oil (if you cover the tofu in hot water, drain it, repeat, you’ll get rid of any bitter grassy flavour and it’ll be warm). Optional additions: cucumber, spring onions, stuff.

Rice noodles, frozen hotpot meat, stock cube, egg. Chuck in a saucepan with hot water until noodles and egg are cooked. Optionally cook with frozen vegetables, like green beans.

quick and easy healthy meal , a sort of egg tomato soup: boil some chicken or veg stock, and heat up some oil in another pot.

once the oil is hot add an (already mixed in a small bowl) egg or two and stir rapidly, and then before the egg even thinks about setting pour in the stock and mix vigorously. it is important to not let the eggs scramble and to add the boiling broth quickly

add some chopped (not diced but large slices) tomatoes and let it boil for a few minutes, then season salt pepper msg and optionally chili oil

eat w rice, cooking is mad easy and takes like 10 min and cleanup is just two pots

The only issue is the salt, other than that, which isn’t even that big of a deal, this is really good. If you like soup you could make and freeze or buy some chicken stock and whip out a quick chicken soup when you don’t feel like cooking complicated stuff. The kimchi was a very good idea, very good for your gut flora, gotta have at least one probiotic food a day 👍

  9. Egg is great my brother keep it up you got this

Depression definitely sucks, been there many times. But that meal looks pretty decent actually. You’re doing great and you are amazing. 💟

It’s a lot healthier than other options, portions seem a bit much but that’s only my opinion

You’re eating. You’re posting. And it is delicious food! You’ve got this 💕💕

    Look better than me cooking

Honey, I’m right there with you. I feel like anything you can keep down is “good” food. I hate the idea of “good” and “bad” foods.
You have your body nutrients. This isn’t shitty at all, this is successful if you ate it!

There are other contributors to depression other than what willfully obtuse health care providers rubber stamp rx for. Check low testosterone. I am in a cocktail even though I feel as though I don’t have it. I’ve had one session with a psychiatrist that I dislike as the hour went on. It was a bitter Karen that I felt like I had nothing to say to. I am going for a blood complete work up on my dime. I am more than willing to be on low testosterone based on my symptoms. Read and advocate for yourself. Take one step at a time to get out of the rut.

I was seriously depressed and unemployed for over a year. All I ate was bacon sandwiches and noodles. You’re doing pretty good. Don’t put yourself down

  19. labellelurette

Hey! Don’t be so hard on yourself !!! You cooked and was able to eat, that’s a big step !!!

    Baby steps my friend 🐌

  20. brewberry_cobbler

Give yourself some grace OP. I hope you’re feeling better soon. This looks delicious.

  22. perfectchaos007

    Not the best but ok

If it was me, I’d put more water in that noodle soup… it looks salty

  23. Try to avoid hot soups in styrofoam bowls if that’s what I’m seeing on the right. Really not good for you.

  24. WhiskeyAndWarcraft

Hey, at least you ate. And it’s not a terrible meal, so no worries. Just keep taking care of yourself one day at a time. 💖

  25. greatkhan7

Nah man this isn’t bad, you’ve got a good spread. As long as you eat something regularly it’s all good. Anything to have some kind of structure and nutrition. I outright stopped eating during my worst depressive episode. Microwaved a pie every two days.

  26. This looks like an excellent meal. You’re doing great buddy. 🙂
