Thought I’d give everyone a heads up that Aldi has there annual offering of an extremely budget level vacuum sealer in stores right now. It usually only out around Thanksgiving. And they also have spare rolls of bags available too.

I have had a Vacuum Sealer that I picked up at Aldi about 10 years ago and have used extensively including processing multiple deer and large primal cuts. It’s worked really well all this time. Except now the seal is starting to go and the one side doesn’t clamp anymore. So I thought I’d pick up this little guy as a back up for $19.99.

My first impressions are that it’s CHEAP as hell. It weights about 4oz’s. Sounds super clicky and hollow. And it vacuums extremely slow. The bags that come with it work, but are extremely thin and oddly rigid and crinkly. It doesn’t clamp well and sealing takes way longer than it should.

IMO, it’s a good thing to grab if you’re just getting into sous vide and want to just get an extremely budget vacuum sealer. It’ll do the job if you just use it occasionally. But this version pales vastly in comparison to their previous versions.
