Details? Are they cutting hours or what?

  2. Looks-Under-Rocks

They do this when they want you to quit

As long as they leave some hours for him in many states not doing anything illegal just shady. They’ll watch him like a hawk that shift too so they can document any minor violations. It’s a Friday with a ton of coverage/backup if he doesn’t show up or if he walks off during shift. Classic kitchen management. Food service really needs union.

Is your friend possibly a worthless teenager? Giving one 4.5 hour shift is something I would only do to people who were constantly calling out of their shifts and fucking around while they’re supposed to be working.

Also pretty indicting that they wrote on the schedule like that, instead of just asking for more hours. Maybe they didn’t ask for more hours because they knew the manager would laugh at them and say “no you call out of all your shifts”.

I know a thing or two, because I’ve seen a thing or two.

ETA: pretty surprising that in a sub dedicated to restaurant workers seemingly no one has come across a single teenager who just doesn’t do their job… I’ve certainly met plenty.

That will surely get him more hours…

Your manager hates you 🙁 condolences

Yeah so let’s do the union thing guys…

  8. You have one guy who works every other day?

In a lot of places this still allows you to pull unemployment.

Being real though your friend writing this on the schedule speaks volumes about them, none of it good. It paints a pretty cohesive picture as to why the place would want them to quit, even if they are going about it in a shitty way.

    That’s your friends clue.

They can probably fire him now for vandalism and agressive behavior

I feel bad for bro being scheduled on and off like that. I’d rather have 2 days off in a row than 3 days off with work in between each day
