I have been to Monteverde a handful of times and always left satisfied. I took a friend here for lunch today and we had a fantastic meal. I went for my classic favorites: the burrata e ham and the pomodoro. They were fantastic as always. Chicken liver mousse was a quite generous portion and tasted delicious. The highlight this time around for me was the red kuri squash agrodolce. I didn't expect it to be so complex and addicting!

Thank you for casting shade at the post from earlier this week. Monteverde is one of the best restaurants in Chicago and never disappoints.
I ate at the bar last night. Fan-fucking-tastic!
The burrata and ham is one of the best dishes in the city
It’s not red hot ranch but it slaps
Never really thought of it as a lunch place.
It sounded like that last guy was more mad at the service for some reason. Did they not know that he was a professional yelp reviewer?!
Monteverde is amazing
The shrimp scampi was very good.
I believe it’s possible that they had an off day or even an off meal but I have never experienced anything but excellence there
I came to Monteverde for an early dinner and it was evident I was not being treated as well as other tables around me. The arancinis were dry, I’ve had better arancinis from sfera. The Ragu was the most disappointing meal of 2024 that I’ve had, it was so grotesque. I’ve had better meals at restaurants half the price.
I’ll be eating there for lunch next Saturday for the first time. I’m excited.
I’m not your guy, pal
Gonna try this spot one day cos it looks so damn good . If that other person didn’t like it that’s okay no need to think they’re crazy. It’s a pricey place they’re entitled to their opinion.
Would you recommend this for the solo traveller? It’s on my list but I’m not sure if going alone is the vibe?
