Has anyone else experienced the levers being loose? It feels super cheap now. They felt sturdy on day one, but now 80 days later of 2–3 coffee drinks per day, they feel like they are falling apart.

Does anyone know a DIY fix? Do I need to go to Ascaso or the website I bought I from?

I’m really bummed about this :/

If it was me I would just unplug it and open it up. It might be as easy as tightening up a nut on the other side; vibration during shipping can loosen things up pretty easily.

Bummer. That’s why I’m waiting to until I can spring for ECM.

That just looks like the inside nut on the switches loosened up because of shipping/thermal cycling.

What is the question/issue? Open it and tighten them.

Open it up and tighten the nuts holding the switches. Problems like this are a really great way for you to learn how to open up your machine and work on it. When the stakes are low and the issue is very easy to fix it will give you a good chance to poke your nose around and get to know your machine.

Most of these machines are relatively easy to service and are rarely economical to send to a repair shop. So learning how to do basic service on you machine will ensure that you get many more years out of it.

Thanks for posting this. I was thinking of getting one for Xmas but maybe reconsidering now…

  6. This isnt much of a problem guys, should easily be fixed by what the others have suggested. Everyone ends up opening their machine at some point anyways.

The switches are loose from the body but are likely perfectly fine. Sometimes it happens from shipping turbulence, your vibratory pump may also be touching a body panel and is making quiver biscuits? Wonder if you had shipping damage that hit the switches and knocked them loose.

Tiny bit of Loctite 435 on the back of the fixing nut should work wonders. Loctite 545 would also be better for the thread interface.

Edit: don’t forget to re-orient the bezels so they’re vertical so your switch action is consistent.
