Brought this to a party where hearty, meaty Italian pasta was being served, and it was a huge hit. As usual, Vietti delivered fantastic value.

**Tasting notes:** pale garnet color that looks more like Barolo than other “regular” Nebbiolos I’ve seen; earthy nose of black cherry, red fruit, red roses, and some spice; palate shows grippy tannins that are well-balanced by mouthwatering acidity (paired beautifully with tomato sauce); tastes of red fruit and black pepper; finish was medium length, with more complexity than I expected (peppery notes seemed to intensify).

I had 2 glasses — first one poured immediately after uncorking (took my time on it), and second one after about 45-60 min. of decanting, which mellowed out the tannins a bit and revealed more intense red fruit notes.

Solid QPR at $65-70 USD for a magnum, thought it’s better at the ~$30 for 750mL you can find at some places… but hey, magnums are fun and it was a party!

My rating: 4.2 out of 5
