Way back in 1998, I travelled to Ireland on business and enjoyed a “full Irish” breakfast at the hotel we stayed at in Limerick. Lately, I’ve been having a hankering to have a full English, or any other variety, but I couldn’t find any nearby restaurants in northern Virginia that provided that. Also, it’s cheaper to do this kind of thing myself, so with the help of black and white puddings from Scottish Gourmet USA, which arrived in just a few days, I was able to make my own fry-up for my family this past Sunday, and it was a great success.

Note: The home fries look a little weird because I used a mix of purple and white potatoes. The purple potatoes were actually purple on the inside, which looked very cool, but once fried, made them looked burned, even though they were not.

I hope that’s not for all the family, it won’t go far!

  3. 7/10 – great effort, would smash. However, that sausage makes me sad. I am sure it is cooked through but the lack colour is a rookie mistake. Keep going though, it shows a lot of promise.

One sausage? Cost of living is hitting us hard.
