[This is the coffee I tried from Hasbean](https://www.hasbean.co.uk/products/costa-rica-22085?variant=41785897484341)
And this is also my first time trying freshly ground and brewed coffee, I’m very much used to instant that is either contains powdered syrup in the sachet, or i make a mocha out of to make bearable.
I ground this on the finer side I believe? (about 20 clicks on the 1zpresso q2, so should be finer if im understanding correctly) And brewed using James Hoffman aeropress method, and I was absolutely shocked at he complete difference between fresh coffee and instant coffee
I’m even more shocked at how accurate all the tasting notes were, I didn’t get much apricot but I could certainly see the sour/zesty lemon flavor and a slight cherry in there, especially when taking a big slurp. And it really did have such a natural sweetness to it, one that i wouldn’t think about ever adding sugar to,fruity too in a way, Genuinely so surprised at how amazing it tasted, the difference truly is night and day!! going from something generically sweet and a bit milky to something with so so much more depth is crazy.
Yet to try the other bean but very happy with the [starter kit](https://www.reddit.com/r/cafe/comments/10cjejb/just_got_myself_a_starter_kit/) I got, I was fairly apprehensive about spending that much money but… with the quality of that coffee, the ease of use of the aeropress, and the quality of the 1zpresso q2 i genuinely cant complained, especially the grinder it’s so well built i’m honestly astounded.
Only complaints are with the aeropress though they’re nothing major, it doesn’t brew that much coffee (not a huge deal for me), and at least with the method I use it definitely starts dripping coffee into the mug as soon as the water is poured, i believe it slows down once you put the plunger thing in but its worth mentioning. I believe this might be why people opt for the inverted method?
Regardless, very happy. Honestly feels like a new world has opened up almost. The depth of flavor is 100x more than I’ve ever had from tea (which I still very much enjoy) it’s like a pleasant smack in the face.
But yeah had to gush about that somewhere!!

Welcome to a whole new world of flavour! An alternative to the inverted method is the [Prismo](https://fellowproducts.com/products/prismo) which will also prevent drips with less risk of injury if you’re clumsy like me. (Seriously, search r/aeropress for “Disaster” to see what’s possible with inverted. Not the good kind of gushing.)
