I don’t usually go for the tasting menu at Le Bernardin, so when we decided to do the tasting menus, I ordered a couple extra dishes a la carte.

Chef’s tasting $298, Vegetarian tasting $230. Substitutions are allowed (may incur supplements) from one tasting menu to the other. My friend substituted the halibut in place of the “pho” on the vegetarian menu, while I might have substituted the truffle tagliatelle for the halibut myself if I wasn’t going low carb

Excellent meal. Le Bernardin is about expertly cooked seafood and the myriad of accompanying sauces. Dishes are plated clean. Perfect for couples or small groups to eat and drink a bottle or two. Not about pageantry or worshipping some chef idol’s latest experiment. For those who prefer more of that approach from a 3 Michelin star restaurant, Le Bernardin will seem more like, “well, it’s fish, and sauce, on a plate”

This continues to be one of favorite experiences in the city. Such a great special occasion restaurant.

  4. This again? Stop taking photos of your food at restaurants, especially such a nice place like le Bernadine. Just enjoy the meal you weirdos.

looks underwhelming/kind of meal where you grab some pizza after because you were still hungry. Pass

We are hoping to grab reservations next week for our visit in April.

How full were you after the chef’s tasting menu? We thought about doing that but seems so much food and we don’t want to be so uncomfortably full like we have at a few places.

How did the subs/additions work? My spouse really likes octopus which is another reason we were unsure with the set menu.
