I used 9″ pans bc that’s what I had and I ended up a little short on buttercream, but it was both delicious and well received. The precise directions are a godsend! The buttercream was a little more work than I would bother with for anything other than a special occasion, but the white cake is phenomenally moist, with balanced flavors and a tight crumb.
