    Medium, or in my mind, overcooked

    Nice trick, if you or young dining partners request a certain “doneness” take your dominant hand. Hold it palm upwards. Locate the muscle at the base of your thumb to the side of your palm.
    Take each finger, from pinkie through (in order, ring, go fuck yourself and finally pointer) and attempt to press on that part of your hand.

    Pinkie is rare, pointer is well done, other fingers are in between so ring finger is medium rare etc. Takes out the issues with temp an/or timing. If they want blue no more than slap it on the cooking surface and turn than remove if they want it more cooked than “pointer finger” shame them publicly and never invite them back
