I was fortunate to get an old McCafe machine that was broken – a Franke Sinfonia. It was lots of fun; took it all apart and played with the components to see how it all worked.

From it harvested the 240V grinder so could use it myself. I can adjust the grind on it, from what I’m guessing is great for pour over to a fine dust for espresso. Have hardwired it in with a switch to control.

There were two grinders. I mangled one trying to open it to get to the blades to clean it unfortunately. For me is the first step to a more exciting coffee future. Here is a video of it in action:
