Love me some Malibu Seafood. We got the Salmon plate with potato salad and pilaf rice, cod fish and chips, fried oysters and clam chowder.
Salmon was okay, not too seasoned. The potato salad was not tradition but super good.
Funny enough, I asked my wife to order halibut fish and chips. They only had cod, but she didn’t mentioned that. When we got our food, I was like, “see can’t you tell the difference? So tender.” Lmao. So needless to say it was really good.
Not pictured, the clam chowder which was nice and thick. The fried oysters were solid, but not really my thing in general.

I love that place too, though I do have to say I wish some of their food can have a little more seasoning. But it’s still a treat to eat there after a day out on the beaches.

I just wish they had something more than rice, french fries and potato salad that I could eat. It would be nice if busy restaurants like this would try to have something to accommodate everyone, even a veggie burger if not vegan fish fillets. I wrote In and Out Burger once and asked if they would consider adding a veggie patty or beyond, etc. to the menu and they wrote back in so many words: “Sorry, we’re not interested in catering to you.”

I come here often to buy fresh fish to cook at home! In their cold case, the garlic mussels are amazing, like one of my favorite treats… And their coleslaw is pretty great, too.

Do y’all recommend making a reservations here? Is that necessary or can i just walk in and be okay to find a spot to dine in?

Love this place, just a wonderful escape from the city now and then. Having had all the more hyped and recent options, I’d still argue their fried fish sandwich is the best we have.

I tell this story a lot:
I’m from NY, and grew up with some guidos as friends – my most guido of friends came before I had to drive everyone’s drunk asses to Vegas.
They ALWAYS say when are you moving back LA sucks etc.
We go to Malibu seafood. We’re sitting there eating the great food and some dolphins start hopping around in the water across the street….
