Is there any type of minimum target for servings or grams of whole grains? From the Oldways website I found my way to the Whole Grain Council webpage trying to define what a serving of whole grains would be (rather than just relying on the package serving size) and it says that 16 grams of whole grains is a serving. Based on the stamp on the Quaker Old Fashioned oats a 1/2 cup serving is 40 grams of whole grain or 2.5 servings.

Does is matter in the end how many grams of whole grain eaten in a day or is it better to focus on the plate method of 25% of each meal being a whole grain. I may be too far in the weeds on this but can also easily overeat grains.

Thanks!

You don’t have to obsess over number of grams of whole grains. Mind your serving sizes, but the recommendation is 5-8 servings of whole grains per day. Most of us hit 3-4.
