Am I doing this right?

    I travel for a living, and mostly live out of hotels.
    I’m not a big fan of having to use disposable plates and cutlery.

    That said, this was a fantastic lunch and I think it’s going to be a consistent go to. I could eat like this every day of my life and be perfectly okay with it.

    Gonna get some good cheese and make sure it’s included from now on.

    Everything here came from trader joes;

    -cab red, nice and inky

    -demi baguette, whole wheat

    -3 oz of sardines in olive oil

    -2oz of smoked salmon

    -5 oz of broccolini

    -garlic olive oil

    -gerolsteriner mineral water

    -green goddess season salt (parsley, garlic, onion, basil, black pepper, mostly)

    The whole lunch was about $4. I warmed the bread up briefly, but it would’ve been fine without it.

    Looks lovely. The wine isn’t necessary, and you could look for a whole grain bread. But as long as you are enjoying your meal and it’s keeping you full, I think that’s a win.

    You could use a bit more veggies and fruit. The baguette may have white flour in it (labeled as “wheat flour” or “enriched flour”). Trader Joe’s whole wheat pita bread comes a bit closer to MD-friendly.

  4. Your Trader Joe’s spread looks pretty good to me!

    I want to start eating Mediterranean, but I find the cookbooks a little intimidating as far as the prep and cost/availability of ingredients. I will probably do something simplistic because if I like a food, I can eat it every day.

    I am also thinking about adding red wine to one meal. I found a good article on the pros & cons from a health perspective:
