Probably won’t kill you but sure won’t taste great…

  2. Wonder if I just took a half inch off the outside of the whole surface if it would up my chances. Don’t see any freezer burn 🤷🏻‍♂️

Won’t kill ya but you won’t be happy with it! Pretty sure at tops a year it will still be ok but even that is pushing it.

  4. It’s in the trash. Found a 2mo old tri tip I’ll steal instead

I would go for it, but I wouldn’t be inviting guest over. Defrost, smell test, cut a 1-1/2” out of it. Cook it to at least medium. Eat it and if it rocks, call the friends. If it doesn’t and the taste isn’t that great, make something with a tomato sauce, like a sauce picante or even a red sauce you cook for a while to get the taste out.

    Edit: That’s an insane price.

You guys realize if something is properly frozen it by definition can not go bad…such a waste to toss it

Off topic – but it’s so weird to see someone with same granite counter top!!

  8. It was properly stored, you’ll be fine, I bet it even tastes good

Reminds me of my parents. They literally buy expensive cuts and bury them in the bottom of the freezer till they forget about them then toss them when they get spooked.

My brother will eat anything though- he has a field day digging their their stuff before they toss it.

  10. Worth trying but don’t eat a lot at first, see if you have any reaction

Jesus a $30 difference for being a rewards member?!? That a hefty discount!

Dang, cover that busy countertop up before taking a pic

If it’s been properly sealed and was frozen immediately when purchased then technically it will never go bad and be perfectly safe to eat. Would venture that the quality won’t be the best but could be pleasantly surprised. Would still do a sniff test after it thaws and airs out though bc you don’t know for sure how it was handled prior to freezing

In once ate 7 year old fish and I’m still here 🤓

Can’t tell where the steak ends and the counter begins.

I’d 100% go for it, and since it may taste a little lackluster it’s a perfect candidate for a steak au poivre

Looks fine! Please cook it and let us know!

Defrost in the fridge for a couple days. Don’t thaw it out in the sink with water. Let it stay cold all the way down. Then smell test it. If it’s still good it’ll be pretty tender OR mush when you cut steaks because of the water molecules bursting in the freeze. But it’s a 50/50 shot you should def take

I ate ground bison that had been frozen for over 20 years (never thawed). It was pre- 9/11 ground bison.

I had 2 pounds, never felt ill, never tasted anything racid, foul or unappealing. In fact, the bison had a very distinct tangy flavor that was really enjoyable. That was the only time I’ve ever tasted that flavor before or since.

But I want to be clear, the seal was completely intact and there was absolutely no visible oxidation. The meat was as pink as the day it was packaged. If the meat had thawed brown or gray, I wouldn’t have tried cooking it.

So considering that cut is only 3 years old and comoletely sealed, I’d leave it in longer!

It might smell like the freezer a bit, taste a touch like the freezer but it’s still edible for sure

  21. toomuch1265

Worst case scenario, give it to a dog. I would try it though.

  22. robt477

😂 NO are you kidding me??? It’s 3 years old.

  23. CarefulPomegranate41

Thaw it out and give it a sniff.

  24. Stalking_Shadow82

Bro its 3 years old. It ain’t no where close to good

  25. roomtotheater

Yes. Frozen meat is safe to eat forever. Looks sealed well too so probably no freezer burn

Lol I recently had a flank steak from 2018. Not my proudest moment but with the right marinade it was good enough

I use old freezer beef in stews. After all the cooking and seasoning, can’t tell the difference. If it wasn’t vacuum sealed, I’d say toss it.

Shit costs 130 bucks where I live lol Christ
