I grew jalapeños from seeds but one plant is producing long peppers. What do you guys think?
The pepper to the left is definitely a jalapeño, but I am not sure about the pepper on the right.

The one on the right looks like a cayenne. If left on the plant, it will turn red.

Looks as if Peppergate has struck again!

Short one is a jalapeño. Long one looks like a serrano

Long one looks like a medium hot salsa pepper. I’m sure there’s another name for them but that’s how my local nursery labels them. I have a couple of them and they’re serviceable hot peppers, but really really long, like 7 inches

How does it taste in comparison to the jalapeño?

Definitely Serrano, seems too thick for a cayenne to get to that size. At first I thought I’d take a shot in the dark and say txorixero pepper until you mentioned it was hot.

Peppergate has been so annoying for so many, but I have to admit, the IDing steps have been fun and I’ve learned a ton from everyone.

  7. Are the peppers on the right growing upwards or downwards? Because it looks like my Thai peppers.
