Homemade Lemonade
Time to Make It: 15 minutes
Yield: 8 cups lemonade

Ingredients

5 pounds lemons
2 cups water
2 cups sugar

Instructions

1. Cut lemons in half. Juice each lemon through a strainer into a large measuring cup. Keep juicing until you have 2 cups of lemon juice.

2. Pour water into a medium-size saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir in sugar. Continue cooking over heat until sugar is dissolved and liquid looks clear again.

3. Combine sugar solution with lemon juice. This is a lemonade concentrate. When ready to serve, add water to taste.

Note: the lemonade concentrate can be frozen for later use. Just pour it into a gallon-sized ziploc bag and lay flat in the freezer. When ready to serve, thaw, and add water to taste.

  1. Tips Drink the seeds the pulp everything better for you and a lot easier. Just wash your strainer into your final mixture

  2. Could it be easier to let the sugar and water solution cool before pouring it into the lemon juice?

  3. I accidentally mixed the water and the lemon juice up and I mixed the sugar and lemon juice then poured it into a lot of water with ice and it still tasted good 👍

  4. That is a crazy amount of sugar and juice for so little water. I did 6 lemons, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 36 oz. of water. Still has a strong lemon taste and is plenty sweet. Next time I will put less lemons. Maybe 5.

  5. Healthy version of lemonade juice.
Sugar free. Suitable for diabetics and keto diets

4–6 satchels (to taste) of stevia powder sweetner (I use stevia by the tropicana slim)
1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
    2 cups of water

Mix the lemon juice with the water and stir well. Start by pouring in two satchels of stevia powder and stirring to mix them well. Taste it, and if you feel you need to add more stevia powder, do so one satchet at a time. Repeat the tasting process until you feel the lemonade juice's sweetness suits your preference.

Serving Instructions: Put an ice cube in a glass and pour the lemonade juice.

  6. A great tip to get more juice from citrus fruits is to roll your fruit a few times first. It will help to release the juice from the flesh. It nearly always doubles the amount of juice you get out.

  7. I just made this. Thanks for the tip on squeezing the juices first so I know how much syrup to make. It was delicious! Do you think it would work with limes too?

  8. I had never known how much sugar soft drinks contained until I made my first lemonade last week….
