Top tier meal at Nawa and I gotta thank this sub for putting it on my radar! I’ve included the menu as the last image as I can’t seem to add captions.

There wasn’t much info on the restaurant but I did find that the kitchen is helmed by the husband-and-wife team formerly from 80/20(*). It’s easy to get to, just a short walk from Ekkamai BTS so you don’t really have to go through Sukhumvit traffic lol.

We went end August and had the rainy season menu. Food was beautifully presented and execution was great—the spices were perfectly balanced. The kitchen/service team takes the time to share the inspiration for each course and how local dishes are reimagined.

Definitely add on the signature tom yum kung—we all agreed it was the best rendition we’ve had, and we’ve had a lot of tom yum kungs. There was depth and heat (quite spicy for my Asian palate) in the broth and we loved how the Nawa logo was created with the prawn head & shell, adding both texture and flavour to the already elevated dish.

The fried pork toast was also an add on and while it was yummy, I’ll probs skip it the next time as it ended up being too much food.

Gotta say we were thoroughly impressed with desserts because many places have dropped the ball at this point of the meal. We saw “seasonal fruits” on the menu and expected cut fruits (like in certain restaurants) but wow they exceeded our expectations. The fruits—sour mango, dragonfruit, mangosteen—were deconstructed into these gorgeous desserts. Petit fours were super intricate and interesting takes on local sweets as well.

Come hungry and if I could describe this meal in a few words: Run, don’t walk!! I also highly recommend getting a table at the chefs’ other casual dining restaurant, Samlor—their omelette is to die for.
