  1. Keep it simple people, all you need is mayonnaise, mustard, onions and of course potatoes Yukon gold or Red potatoes and salt and pepper optional items peppers and celery that's it

  2. It is a good recipe. I have good reviews with my family and friends. Just adjust the sugar to taste. Even macaroni salad too! 😊

  3. I’ve never used a cooked dressing for potato salad, but this was pretty good. I reduced the sugar to a 1/4 cup, and used a double boiler method to cook the dressing. A couple of folks who don’t like potato salad because of all the mayo, as well as others, really did like this. ~ It’s not the potato salad I grew up on, but it’s a good potato salad.

  4. I first made this years back when i lived in the Middle east, My wife has asked me to make Xmas lunch with our Boiled shrimp. A real Australian Summer Xmas lunch… i cant wait to make this again, may have loved the tast… it is all in the sauce… for sure

  5. So funny reading the american comments. Youre as adverse to variety like you are to exercise, international travel and community safety outweighing an individuals riight to own military weapons. Nobody, NOBODY has ever said "lets have american cuisine" unless youre already morbidly obese and are too lazy to eat anything but deep fried plastic.

  6. I have a recipe similar to this, it’s incredible! A quicker version is to mix same amounts os mayonnaise and Marzetti’s cole slaw dressing.

  7. Oh, I wanted to tell you, I used this recipe every year for Thanksgiving. And the only adjustment I make is for the topping, many may opt to use paprika, but I use Cayenne pepper. It's the same color, but man, oh man, does that cayenne pepper add a PUNCH! It makes the best potato salad in the world even better. Thank you for this awesome recipe!

  8. It would be nice to have the quantities for a certain amount of people, instead of a little of this and a little of tHat. 🤦‍♀️

  9. Sorry, if I served that to my family they would most likely toss it in the trash.

  10. People saying that sugar doesn't belong in this recipe REALLY??
How about the Potato Salad you buy already made in SaveMart and other grocery stores? They have sugar in them and they are subtly sweet!!!
Didnt you see the other ingredients put in it to equal the variables of sugar like the vinegar, onions, celery, mustard, and butter and added salt put in 2 different times??
Salt goes into cookie and cake baking whats difference here only sugar should be put into it.
They go together to bring a balance to the flavor!!

  11. I’ve never seen so many EMOTIONAL folks in the comments over potato salad. My family had a great time ridiculing all the Karen’s. I reduced the sugar to 1/4 cup, added pickle and olive and it was fanF*Ckingtastic.

That’s what you do, change up the ingredients to make it what you want, not lose your mind in the comments because you are triggered.

Common sense is sometimes not so common.

  12. We're making potato salad today so we'll need one large ham, a bottle of chocolate sauce, a 2×4, some daisy's and the gears from a '72 Dodge power wagon. Get yourself a bowl and…

  13. If you have only sweetened condensed milk, you can use it with similar effect, just reduce the amount of sugar. This is one of those recipes that that seems like unnecessary work but takes it to another level if you have time.

  14. Is there a text document for this recipe? I am having a hard time following the video for everything I need. TIA

  15. This is the most non-traditional dressing I have ever seen for potato salad, but it looks very interesting. Initially, it looked like you were making a custard. I will make two batches of potato salad today, one traditional and one with your recipe. My family always enjoys a side-by-side taste test.
