Saw one in Budapest a few weeks ago… as an American, I am missing out!

Don’t all McDonald’s have some version of espresso now ? At least for milk drinks (lattes etc) we have that here in Toronto.

Honestly, it’s not terrible. About what you’d expect from a decent superauto.

Even McDonald’s India has a McCafé with nice cappucinos and somewhat drinkable americanos. They use Rancilio machines. I’m not going to risk their espresso though…

Oh and all their drinks are better than anything you’d get at Starbucks, while being priced ~30% less.

So do larger McDo’s in France. They hold their own against the usual french dreck espressos.

McCafè with proper espresso machines started in Melbourne, Australia in the 90s because Australians refused to drink the dirt water that came with regular McDonald’s lol. A lot of McDonald’s globally have it now, I guess it never made it back to the states though

So do Australia, Thailand, and Vietnam

  8. elementfortyseven

TIL McCafé is not a universal feature

they have solid carrot cake as well here

  9. alan-the-all-seeing

they’d likely have long burned down if they didn’t

For like a decade, in Europe, McDonald’s has changed its image to a “cosy, family restaurant/café” and upgraded its venues with McCafes. They offer not great, not terrible coffee and deserts.

I only have their coffee when traveling on a highway. Beats gas station coffee.

Homer: the Italian McDonald’s sells booze!

Polish mcdonalds have mccafe which is arguably one of the better espressos ive had in poland 🙂

  13. Standard in Europe. Pretty good coffee for the price.

You can go to a station toilet in iatly and you get a great shot

  15. Jewish-SpaceLaser420

    Umm excuse me it’s “McCafe”

  16. Hasso21

German here. A decade ago (or smth like that) mostly every McDonald in Europa started with a second buffet called McCafé.
you see them everywhere in Europe and honestly they are very acceptable for its price. Sometime even the regular counter has the machine of the McCafé

  17. il-bosse87

    Don’t… I tried once… no more I swear…

  18. ShaemusOdonnelly

Don’t do it. Every McCafé I have been to pulls 5 second gushers with charcoal chunks they call beans. Their espressos are so bitter they taste like pure poison, despite being watery af.

MacDonalds in NL has always had espresso for as long as I can remember at least. And you know what, it’s suprisingly nice!

  20. Akira6969

mist of the worlds mcdonalds have espresso. and its good

  21. JimRat777

You don’t have these? They’re in literally every Micky D here in the Netherlands

  22. patrick1415

Even the IKEA in Italy has real espresso

  23. BrianOconneR34

Germany as well. As an American walking into mcd’s immediately pissed at crap they offer in US.

  24. rian_constant

Most McDonald’s in Europe do. In Germany they launched a rather successful front-store coffee side business called McCafe and expanded all over Europe in selected stores.

  25. CTX_Traveler

Most McD outside of US has it. We are a bit deprived here 😞.

  26. mcshibbs

The international version of everything that originated or was popularized in America is always superior to what you’ll find in the states…
