I made 6 batches of apples sauces yesterday- recipe from the ball cookbook. For most of them I used wide mouth but I did one batch with the normal pint jars. I left 1/2 in head space on both styles. On a few of the normal mouth jars it appears the apple sauce overflowed as there was quite a bit of sticky residue when I took the rings off.

They appear sealed well I just want to make sure that it spilling out didn’t hurt the longevity of the seal.

Thanks!

Wash your jars well with warm, soapy water and make sure the residue isn’t what’s causing the seal. If the seals are tight, you should be ok, but eat the ones that were sticky first. If the seals loosen, refrigerate.
