Definitely the most interesting meal I’ve had in Japan so far. The wildest item I’ve had in Japan my last trip was horse sushi and tartare. The deer blood macaron here takes the cake
Overall good meal that was unique and far from boring. I would return again, ideally in a different season. The chef hunts the game meats served. Service was good but it was very hard to understand the components of the dishes. Lature Plus lunch was a steal at $63 even though it was marked up on Omakase when booked online.
Deer blood macaron- super interesting, sweet, savory, gamey. Not delicious but not bad. Wife couldn’t stomach it.
Wild boar rum raisin- tasted like pate
Fish and pear Mille Feuille – very good, layered with dill. Dollops of a cheese sauce
Pate en croute- bear, badger, wild boar, deer, foie, pistachio. Had to confirm with server that he said bear and badger. This was good, more flavor than traditional pate en croute. Served with radish, persimmon and apple.
Bread and butter- bread was really good. Came out really hot and crispy. Butter was very “milky”
Filefish with cabbage soup- first time having it and it was incredible. Fish was so savory and. meaty. Didn’t care for the soup
Deer- best I’ve had and they served a nice portion for a lunch course. Served with yam, shiitake, eggplant, pumpkin
Sake custard cake, yuzu sorbet and other stuff I couldn’t make out or remember. Very good though
Rum raisin butter sandwiches were available for purchase. Buttercream and biscuits were good. Wasn’t a big fan of the rum raisin
