Englishman trying my hand at a homemade In-N-Out style Burger
Have never tried In-N-Out or even been across the Pond but (vaguely) followed Josh Weissman’s recipe, it was extremely delicious

You automatically get a point for not calling it a “beefburger”.

Better eat it before everything falls out.

Too much meat, all you’re going to taste is hamburger.

I would want my onion sliced smaller and American cheese (no one does cheese like the Americans, I yell ya whut) and this would be exactly what I make at home here in the good ol’ USA. It looks delicious, but it’s far too large to be an In-N-Out burger. (So is Josh Weissman’s; it’s a burger based on In-N-Out’s flavors, but doesn’t stay true to the original.)
1000 Island is the key! So good.

Looks delicious! If you want it slightly more authentic to In-N-Out try these suggestions:
First make those patties as thin as practical. Then add caramelized onions between the patties, maybe even a whole grilled onion (slice). In my opinion raw onion slice is the worst choice of the 3 onion choices at In-N-Out.
Now although people love to hate it, American cheese is a necessity, it’s the best cheese for a burger like this.
Try keeping the iceburg lettuce whole and folding it up, that’s what they do.
You could probably use a smaller bun, it’s a bit hard to tell. Part of the magic of a Double double is the ingredients, which you’ve nailed for the most part. The part that could use work is the proportions… the double double is a compact double burger and that’s part of what makes it amazing!

Bro… after reading all the comments, I’ll say this. Is it true to the original? No. Is that a bad thing? Fuck no. This looks delicious, and I would devour it!
