Any advice on what I could include or substitute out are welcome! 😊

Still looks a little meat centric and likely more carbs/dairy than there should be.
    Looks tasty though!

The food looks good, but your portions are HUGE.

Also, not to judge, but what happened to that poor piece of salmon?

Mediterranean here (Turkish) that’s way too much halloumi if you are aiming for weight loss, halloumi has crazy high calories and fat.

It is tasty as fried so I don’t blame you 😂

You don’t need chicken and halloumi in one meal. One of the hardest parts in transitioning from a western diet like the SAD to the MD is rethinking how to plan meals. Ideally you want to start with your vegetables and go from there. Granted, this is easier said than done, even as long as we’ve been doing this. This week has been easier for us because we have a lot of veggies we need to use up. So, take tonight’s dinner (Thai peanut Buddha bowls). It started with broccoli and cauliflower left over from a veggie tray. My next thought was, Do I want to add sweet potato to this? Nah. We’ve had sweet potatoes in the last two nights’ dinners. Ooh, but we have some carrots to use up. They’ll add color. Alright, so what protein? Think we have edamame in the freezer. ‘kay. Plus we’ll toss some peanuts on there. Which grain? Guess we’ll go with brown rice because we’re almost out of barley (though in typing this, I remembered we have farro which we haven’t had in ages). And we’ll dress it with a spicy Thai peanut sauce.

You’re getting lots of really great feedback! My only addition would be thinking about having only one whole grain per meal. So rice or pita not both.
