Hi all, does anyone know why there is a pale layer separation in this jar of tomato sauce?
Does something in the canning process cause some sort of natural separation?
(I have a jar of Costco marinara and there’s no separation like this at the bottom of that jar)

For reference, ingredients are: Tomato Puree (Water, Tomato Paste), Onions, Olive Oil, Salt, Garlic, Basil, Oregano
That honestly looks a lil bit sketchy 😅 maybe something went wrong in the processing?
