Menu with food descriptions on last photo!
Wanted to highlight a local favorite of mine: Restaurant Gish in Santa Clara CA. Theme is “whatever the chefs want” but they have Korean backgrounds and so you see Korean and Asian elements everywhere.
The crazy thing is they completely turn over their menu monthly so I end up going with friends every month. Usually around $80pp for four courses and $40pp for wine pairing with very generous pours.
The food is quite good usually and although not everything is always a hit (this time I thought the risotto was tasty but a bit boring and needed more textural contrast for example) the soul and coziness of the cooking permeates every dish and is what brings me back time and time again. The reasonable price point doesn’t hurt either.
Thought I’d share more about them since I love the big names that top the Michelin and 50Best lists but it’s also really wonderful to know there are super talented local chefs working in more understated, intimate environments to bring folks top-notch food.
(We did get the lamb addon too which was delicious but I stupidly forgot a photo)
(Since I go pretty much monthly I can also can keep posting these if people are interested but not sure if that’s too spammy haha)

The ‘Menews’ is adorable!
I live in this area too and have had this spot bookmarked to try for awhile, excited to try now!
Was there back in July, not quite Michelin star quality but certainly shows potential. I hope they get better and better.
Must be smashing pumpkins fans
