  1. OP here.

[I posted yesterday](https://www.reddit.com/r/hotsauce/comments/18rix70/my_opinion_old_vs_new_huy_fong_foods_sriracha/) about Huy Fong srirachas and Underwood Ranches Dragon Sriracha. (Underwood was the original supplier of peppers to Huy Fong before bad business decisions/lawsuit changed things.) The Dragon Sriracha is *top-tier INCREDIBLE sriracha* which I highly recommend!

When I ordered from Underwood, I chose the 3-pack option. For me, it was 2 of the Dragon Sriracha bottles and 1 bottle of Chili Garlic sauce. (See my photos above)

After taste testing the Huy Fong and Underwood srirachas, I enjoyed the remainder of my scrambled eggs/bacon with this Underwood Ranches Chili Garlic hot sauce.

It is akin to a Sambal Oelek. The consistency was chunky. (If you’re familiar with making salsas, the texture and thickness was like tomatillos put in a blender: mixture of wet, solid yet soft.)

Quite tasty stuff, although I’m not going to rush to replace the bottle. The garlic didn’t “pop” as I thought it would. The spicyness of the jalapeno peppers was the definitive, primary taste. No sweetness, imo. I was also expecting more acidity like [Huy Fong’s garlic chili sauce](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Findogroceries.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2022%2F07%2FHuy-Fong-Chili-Garlic-Sauce-18oz.jpg&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=a9a1cd91cc489c7c17cb1596cad012f5a01cd7d14f9c9005be00ee45ec7889fd&ipo=images) which I really enjoy. Instead, it tasted less salty and less acidic than Huy Fong’s.

**I’d be curious if any of you have tried this chili garlic hot sauce. And if there’s anything near-identical which you really enjoy.** For now, Underwood Ranches Dragon Sriracha is a MUST BUY. Their Chili Garlic hot sauce… is good, near great. It was yummy! I think Underwood needs to do some fine-tuning to make it even better.

As a final thought, the Underwood chili garlic sauce tasted very, very fresh. The chunky/lumpy consistency and color, plus the taste, seemed like this batch had been made somewhat recently. With Huy Fong chili garlic sauce, it’s hard to tell when it may have been made. Then again, I was squeezing the Underwood sauce onto a spoon *from a bottle* versus putting a spoon into a small jar of Huy Fong sauce–which is far more watery/not as chunky.

To counter your ads, people outside of the United States are not used to huy fong or underwood ranches stuff. I don’t see how one would produce a Thai style sauce with jalapeno peppers. But I have the Tabasco Sriracha here and it’s ok. A common brand outside the US is for example flying goose brand. They have a large and tasty variety of products and I’m at least buying their sambal with *30 %* (!) garlic for 20 years now and it’s delicious. What I want to say is, huy fong or underwood ranches are in a worldwide view by far not “the one and only og producers” of sriracha or comparable sauces. 🙂
