Hey! I have never canned before and picked up a pressure canner. It’s beautiful and looks like a tank. I am having some trouble getting a tight seal and have noticed that the weight gauge steam pipe is collecting water towards the threads. It seems tight but seems to bubble up. I only have water in it.
Is that common? I have not seen in mentioned anywhere including a few books and videos.
I did not want to over tighten.

You’ll be fine, it is most likely just moisture coming from around the vent pipe and weight.
I saw an entire corned beef come out of a hole that size once. Once.
