We had wanted to get here since we saw Jordie on the chef’s table. Our whole trip was planned around this as the booking was 11 months out. We started our trip in Portugal and wrapped it up here as the finale.
Overall the experience was amazing. We will definitely do it again. Top 3 dining experience for us. The service, dining room, cellar and everything else were just world class.
The food was excellent. Some dishes we really enjoyed, some not so much but they were all works of art. I didn’t want to touch some of them because they were so visually stunning. The menu was mostly seafood and pretty light which was great because the courses just kept coming. They came in rapid fire. Desserts were obviously one of the highlights with Jordie running the helm on pastries. I think there were four desserts plus a cart.
We regret not doing the wine pairing but we just said keep it coming by the glass based on what the sommelier recommended and they were all absolutely spectacular. We said we like weird wines and I have to imagine they just opened bottles for us because I had a bunch of crazy wines we never have had before. They even had a Lopez de Heredia rose wine which we were told to ask for when we visited the winery. They were insanely generous with pure too. I’ve never seen anything like it before.
Absolutely do a kitchen but more importantly a wine cellar tour. I can’t imagine how many millions of dollars of wine they have stored in there. I’ll post a video later on of that. It was really cool to have all 3 brothers there which I’m sure is rare based on their busy schedules. They were all so kind. Highly recommend staying at their hotel as well. The breakfast was so good.
Shoot me a note with any questions you’ve got about the experience or just put it in the comments.
