Today I’m going to show you how to make my very best chocolate cake so here goes this chocolate cake is made by the all-in-one method which is so easy first of all I’m going to take the cocoa that goes in the bottom of the bowl that said the Coco’s in there and I’m
Just going to mix it with boiling water that helps to cook the cocoa so that just needs mixing to start with but a quick way around that looks well whisked I’ll just show you that with the tablespoon it sort of makes a paste mixture now to the other
Ingredients first of all three eggs I do them in this order because I find that the liquid egg helps to gather everything in then the next is the butter now this is really important that this butter is soft if it’s oily it won’t make a good mixture if it’s too hard
It won’t blend easily then in goes the sugar now the sugar is golden caster in that goes then in self-raising flour because this is the all-in-one method I’m going to use just a little baking powder that’s rounded almost the same over the top as it is underneath so that
Goes in like that no need to sit it and lastly the milk so check that all the ingredients are in down with the lid and beat it until it’s beautifully smooth slowly to begin that looks beautifully mixed let’s lift this up with the whisk that’s it and now into the tunes
First of all grease the tins really well and then scrape the mixture down and put half in each tin and then into the and they hear in at 160 fan and they will take about 30 minutes these are the new push pans from the maryberry with lakeland range and
All you got to do is just push up the base and they come out take a tin hold the sides firmly then push that down then you just pretend it as it’s cooled I can do that and you just put that on to a tea towel or under an oven glove
Like that and then just loosen that away and then just turn that over the top so now to the chocolate ganache I’m using equal quantity of double cream yes real dairy double cream pouring creamy I’m going to keep that cream until it’s almost boiling then I’m going to add the
Chocolate which I’ve just broken into pieces in it there’s and the heat of the cream will melt that chocolate they just stir it all the time and now to ice the cake I’m going to spread the cake with apricot jam and I don’t mind if there are few bits in the
Jam so there we are now I’m going to put half the chocolate ganache so just spread that over the top right to the edges then I’m going to put the next top from here like that and then again I’m going to put a little bit of apricot jam
Quite evenly all over the top then the final layer of icing to put all of it on at once in the middle I find best if it’s too runny chill it a little bit more and then just spread it all over the top if you don’t cool it
Enough it will drizzle down the sides maybe that’s how you like it but I’m just putting it on the top and then if you want further decoration you could put up some white chocolate on top I’ve got some over here and you can get a potato peeler and make curls at that or
Just go across with a knife across the top just whatever suits you so I’m just going to sprinkle that you can do it in the middle just gives a final finish so that is a very special chocolate perfect for somebody so there’s my very best chocolate cake and you can see how
