One of my aunts used to bring exactly this, just in bar form to every holiday.

I didn’t know Dusty Marlow made cooking videos.

  3. Not really stupid just the cheater’s version to dolly bars/seven layer bars. They’re actually really good, but extremely sweet. I cut them into bite size pieces because of how rich they are.

Idk about this, but butterscotch chips are criminally underutilized

I’m not crazy about all the ingredients but sweetened condensed milk is not an uncommon ingredient in a pie. Probably not for me, but not stupid.

No. Same ingredients as those “magic bars” that are effing delicious. Although they have walnuts, IIRC.

I’d eat that if I weren’t afraid of becoming diabetic.

We make a cookie bar that’s pretty similar to this plus cherries once a year before Christmas lol they’re called magic cookie bars and they’re actually one of the few cookies I look forward to.

Go look at the back of an Eagle Brand condensed milk can and you will find essentially this same recipe.

Doesn’t seem that bad compared to other stuff on here. Just overly sweet.

No! Lol. These are really good!

I’ve never had it as a pie, (it think it’d be delicious though). I had a friend years ago whose mom made this every Christmas, but cut in to small pieces.

It’s not stupid, it’s a fairly common recipe.

It’s just insanely sweet that just by smelling it gave me headache.

The stirring is wtf because part of the joy of these as a bar cookie is the various chips. And also if you’re going to stir, why not mix in a bowl before putting in the crust rather than carefully layering… but the ingredient set? Pretty classic.

Looks good. Just needs a cup of crushed pecans in there for the crunch

One big bag chocolate chips, one regular bag to half a bag butterscotch chips, a dash of vanilla extract, and a can of sweetened condensed milk is how you make a very easy fudge. It’s quite good.

  15. Delicious-Yak-1095

Plenty of good ways you could have used those ingredients without ending up with slop on a crust.

    Absolutely stupid.

  16. accidental-like

I was so annoyed by the video that it was hard to focus on the pie. She could have sped things up a bit or edited the mistakes.

  17. Condensed milk is delicious, I’ll take any dessert based on it.

  18. PeenInVeen

It doesn’t look too terrible, but it did give me sugar induced diarrhea just by watching it. And sorry, but the amount of cutting and unsuccessful fork scooping was making me so upset

  19. Fuzzy-Ear-993

The only thing that’s bothering me is that they didn’t premix everything beforehand

Doesnt look bad, probably doesn’t taste bad either. I wouldn’t think it’s stupid either just Chocolate Chips, butterscotch chips, condensed milk and coconut shreds

  21. thebusinessgoat

I have a very sweet tooth but more than two bites would probably put me in a coma

  22. TheDiplomancer

Magic cookie bar pie? That’s not stupid at all.

  23. No. If anything, the stupid part is the name – it’s not “condensed milk pie” any more than bread is “flour cake”. It’s “butterscotch/chocolate/coconut pie” that happens to use condensed milk as a base.

There are several popular pies made with condensed milk.

This looks bad and I want to try it at the same time. Doesn’t seem bad or stupid but wierd sure.

  25. suslikosu

I’m pretty sure that would be an amazing pie if you somehow could unsweeten the condensed milk

  26. nahnah_catman

I would eat it but I would never make it. It probably doesn’t taste half as good as if you made something more traditional.

  27. ludvikskp

Extremely sweet. If you boil an unopened can of condensed milk on low for a couple of hours you get amazing caramel. That with sone sort of lighter cream and some fruit can be a bomb no bake pie.
