Small rant: idk what to do. My GMs know and put in a maintenance request to fix it. We’re still using the bar too ?? I just am processing everything and am starting to realize it’s traumatized me a little but I don’t wanna be “overdramatic” or what not.
Edit: I was making this post mid shift but had to stop cause we got a rush but later today maintenance came in and replaced this switch. Apparently this make / model and specific batch has an issue with this switch specifically. The switch basically tells the machine when to turn the heating element on and off and it shorts really easily and melts the connector and literally blows up the switch from shorting out. I guess allegedly this bar has done this like three times in the last year and the company the bar is made from sent them a whole new “motor” if you will and heating element for free cause of this defect but the bar is *clearly* still fucking exploding…
also on the same day we got a new portafilter and the ears are really got damn pointy and sharp and the metal plating fucking chipped off and went into my god damn finger. Probably a 1/16th long metal sliver maybe a bit longer and I had to work through it for about 30 minutes until someone could hop on bar and it took me about 20-30 minutes to dig it out with a god damn sewing needle. If you can’t tell I’m god damn over it right now. Thank god I get paid like $13/hr to deal with this shit. Thanks for coming to my tedtalk. 🙂
