I was gifted a few cans of this smoked salmon from Alaska. Canned 7/23. How long is something like this generally good for? Thank you!

If canned properly, the safety does not diminish with time. Nutrients may degrade, taste may suffer, but safety is not affected if the seal is intact.

For best quality most home canned foods should be eaten within a year. In terms of safety, as long as the food was canned safely and has stayed sealed it will be safe more or less indefinitely.
