This is my first time growing celery. Anyone else blanch theirs? I guess it stays like this for 2 weeks? USA Southern Louisiana 9A, Started from seed last August.

    Blanching keeps it tender, milder tasting and light colored.

    There are self blanching cultivars and those do even better when planted in blocks which further reduces the amount of light that reaches the branches.

    Home grown celery has a more intense flavor than store bought,
    good for soups, salads and broth..
